Project overview

The landmark residential development at West End Quay consists of three blocks totaling 468 apartments and 29,000 sq ft of retail space. West End Quay is situated in a densely populated area of London, a short walk from Regent’s Park and Hyde Park and only 20 minutes away from Heathrow Airport via Paddington station.

Due to its significant location, the property managers needed an EV charging solution to match current and future demand for charging points. EVC were approached to carry out a bespoke solution to benefit both the residents and visitors to West End Quay.

A site survey was conducted by EVC to determine the availability of power for the charge points alongside the optimum location of the chargers to maximize utilisation. It was determined that a new point of connection would be installed to service an initial 12x charging bays with infrastructure for a further 90 bays to ensure the development was futureproofed for continual demand. The initial chargers were installed in pre-existing visitor bays allowing usage from both current residents and visitors to West End Quay.

Installation work was undertaken and completed within 10 working days to minimise any disruption to the residents of West End Quay. The entire service was provided as part of EVC’s Management solution, enabling a 5-year warranty on the chargers as well as an option to generate additional revenue from charger usage. As part of the service, EVC continue to manage the charging stations to ensure there are no faults and all residents and visitors have access to a charge point when required.
