Mendip Spring Golf & Country Club is one of the leading golf clubs in the South West of England. Situated in the beautiful North Somerset countryside, Mendip Spring offers a picturesque golf course, and 19 on-site accommodation rooms.
With increasing numbers of drivers making the switch to an electric vehicle, Mendip Spring understood the need to futureproof the golf course by installing EV chargers in their car park, ensuring their guests and visitors always have a convenient place to charge.
Golf courses provide the perfect location for EV chargers. Naturally, the average dwell-time of visitors at a golf course is 5 hours. This is sufficient time for an electric vehicle to charge to full, so the driver can return from their round to a full battery.
Mendip Spring Golf & Country Club turned to EVC for a consultation, where the optimal approach was discussed. EVC advised an initial 22kW dual socket charger should be installed to meet the current demand of EVs at the golf course. EVC also included infrastructure for a further 8 bays, meaning additional chargers can be installed seamlessly as more visitors make the transition to an electric vehicle.
During EVC’s survey of the site, it was concluded that a new point of connection would be supplied to provide the power needed to electrify the current and future charge points.
Mendip Spring Golf & Country Club opted for EVC’s fully-funded financial option. This option meant that there was no capital outlay required by Mendip Spring for the installation, and ongoing maintenance of the charge points. The Golf Course & Country Club are now ready to welcome EV guests for years to come.
