Project overview

Located in Harlington, this ibis Styles hotel is situated on the doorstep of Europe’s busiest airport, Heathrow. Built in 2014, the 153 room hotel welcomes guests from all around the world. With such vast numbers of guests staying overnight, it became evident that ibis Styles London Heathrow Airport would need to introduce an EV charging solution to meet the demand of their guests.

ibis Styles were introduced to EVC to conduct a full site survey to determine the availability of power on site as well as the optimum location of the charge points. During this process, it was established that the ibis Styles hotel would require one dual socket fast charging unit to meet the current demand of overnight guests charging their electric vehicle.

A professional and efficient service from the start to the finished installation.

The installation of the 22kW dual charger was completed within two days to avoid any disruption to the hotel’s business and the charger was immediately made live to service the EV driving guests. Also, the charge points were added to the public network so that others drivers could benefit from the hotel’s chargers, resulting in an additional revenue stream for the ibis Styles hotel.

For this installation, ibis Styles opted for EVC’s fully funded financial option. This financial option means that there is no capital outlay for the hotel and the installation and ongoing maintenance of the charge points would be conducted by EVC at zero cost.
