Project overview

The Hampton by Hilton Ashford International is a newly built 140 room hotel in the heart of Kent. Finalising construction in 2021, Hampton by Hilton recognised that the availability of EV charge points would be a prominent concern for guests.

Pre-pandemic in 2019 alone, 220,000+ electric car owners opted for hotels with charging facilities over those without, so it was a high priority to ensure the hotel had the sufficient charging infrastructure to welcome all guests to not miss out on vital business.

Hampton by Hilton commissioned EVC to conduct an initial site survey to identify power supply for the charge points, including the required number of chargers to match current and future demand. As charging would be taking place overnight, five dual 22kWh chargers were installed to service 10 EV charging bays, ensuring that all guests had access to a charge point upon arrival to the hotel.

Hampton by Hilton opted for EVC’s fully funded financial option, meaning the installation and ongoing maintenance of the charge points would be at zero cost to the hotel chain. The charge points continue to be monitored 24/7 by EVC’s back office system to ensure maximum uptime.
