Project overview

Constructed in the late 2000’s, Gateway House is a three storey modern office block located a few miles outside of Leicester city centre. The office accommodation is home to numerous tenants who share the 159 bay car park.

With increasing numbers of electric vehicles on site, British construction company, Galliford Try, understood the need to provide accessible EV charging to their office staff located at Gateway House. Galliford Try made contact with EVC to provide a scalable charging solution to meet current and future demand at the workplace.

EVC conducted a site survey to determine the potential charging infrastructure for Gateway House. During this process, it was advised that the charge points could run off the existing office power supply from Galliford Try. With the available power, 3 dual 22kW chargers were to be installed to service 6 EV charging bays, with additional infrastructure for a further 4 bays as demand increases.

Galliford Try opted for EVC’s Management funding solution, meaning they would purchase the charge points from EVC, and EVC would continue to operate, manage and maintain the chargers as part of the agreement. The installation process was undertaken and completed within 7 working days, and the chargers continue to be monitored 24/7 from the EVC headquarters.
