How to get started with EV charging

Maybe you have just bought your very first electric vehicle, or maybe you’re a landlord and need to future proof your land. Either way, one thing is for certain, you need to understand the process of how to get your EV chargers installed.
With a world of choices and so much industry jargon to navigate, how are you meant to understand the process of which charger suits you best? Or which company offers the best after care post installation? We’ve put together a quick step-by-step process to guide you through how EVC install your charge points.
Site Survey
After your initial contact with us, we will conduct a site survey at your premises to gather a better understanding of your property layout and to determine the incoming electricity supply. You may require multiple charge points, or would even like to know the capabilities of further EV infrastructure at your site, this can all be determined at the site survey stage.
You are never on your own throughout your EV journey as we have dedicated EV specialists who will discuss the best options to suit you throughout this process.
Installation of your charge point
Only when you are happy with everything we have discussed, then we can start your installation. Generally, installation will take a few days but potentially longer depending on your site and whether there is a large portion of groundwork involved.
For bigger developments such as multiple residential dwellings or workplaces, we will work with you to develop an installation schedule to ensure this fits your requirements.
Your charge points will be installed by a trained EV specialist electrical engineer and all work will be checked thoroughly before being signed off.
At this stage, you will have your brand-new charge points ready to use.
After Installation
At EVC, we pride ourselves in having one of the best after care teams available. From the moment your charge points are installed, we have experts on standby to talk you through the process of using your EV chargers as well as free ongoing maintenance of your charge points for the duration of the agreement to maximise the charger’s uptime.
We also have a 24/7 helpline for any customers who are having issues using the chargers, and our friendly team will be on hand to aid with any difficulties they may have.
On top of all this, users will have access to the EVC app which allows you to gain valuable insights about your charging session, including projected mileage, cost of the charge and even monitoring your CO2 consumption.
Getting Started
Now that you understand the process, it’s time to start your EV journey. Get in touch with EVC today on 0330 111 2999 or email the team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
